Overview
The movie Snow White from the year 2025 tells the story of Snow White, who grows up with her stepmother, the Evil Queen, after the death of her father. Snow White's growing beauty leads to envy on the part of the Queen, which is repeatedly confirmed by the magic mirror, which proclaims Snow White to be the fairest in the land. For this reason, the Evil Queen plans to have Snow White killed. However, the appointed huntsman cannot bring himself to do it and lets Snow White escape. In the forest, she meets the seven dwarves Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy, who take her in. She also meets Jonathan, a rebel against the evil queen's monarchy - he replaces Prince Florian from the cartoon.

Following the financial success of Alice in Wonderland (2010) , Walt Disney began to re-adapt many of its classic films as live-action movies. In October 2016, the remake of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was announced. Marc Webb was favored as director in May 2019 and took on this task. The first screenplay was written by Erin Cressida Wilson, later joined by Greta Gerwig to write the screenplay. Marc Platt was signed on as producer.
The casting of Rachel Zegler as Snow White was announced in June 2021, followed by Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen in November 2021. Andrew Burnap was cast for the role of Jonathan in December 2022. Filming, which was originally scheduled to begin in Vancouver in March 2020, was suspended due to the coronavirus measures and ultimately took place in the UK from March to July 2022. A fire broke out during construction work on the set at Pinewood Studios. Reshoots took place in June 2024.
A first teaser trailer was shown at D23 2024 and it was revealed that the dwarves are fully computer animated. The film features new tracks by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul alongside classic songs.
