Cookies on our websites

Cookies are small files that our website can store on your hard disk. The use of cookies is a standard method of storing data on your computer across multiple sessions. This allows us to recognize you across multiple browser sessions or to save settings you have made for certain website functions.

Cookies cannot be used to permanently change or damage anything on your computer or smartphone. Cookies are tiny amounts of data with just a few kilobytes of information.

Under no circumstances will the data we collect via cookies be passed on to third parties or linked to your personal data without your consent.

Our website can also be used without cookies. However, Internet browsers are set by default to accept cookies at all times. Contact your browser manufacturer (e.g. Google, Mozilla or Microsoft) to find out how you can change this default behavior. If you deactivate cookies in your browser or only for our website, you must expect that certain functions will no longer be available or work correctly.

The data collected during registration will be stored by us as long as you are registered with the API and will be deleted thereafter. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.

Hosting

This website and services are hosted by the hosting provider Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen (hereinafter: Hetzner).

Details can be found in Hetzner's privacy policy:
https://www.hetzner.com/de/rechtliches/datenschutz

The use of Hetzner is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in displaying our website as reliably as possible. If a corresponding consent has been requested, the processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR; the consent can be revoked at any time.

Data Processing Agreement
We have concluded a data processing Agreement (DPA) with the above-mentioned provider. This is a contract prescribed by data protection law, which guarantees that the provider will only process the personal data of our website visitors in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.

YouTube videos on our websites

We embed videos from YouTube on most of our websites. The operator of the corresponding embedding plugin is YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, California 94066, USA. If you visit a page with this plugin, a connection to YouTube servers will be established automatically after you have given your consent. YouTube will be informed of which pages you are currently visiting and at what time. If you are logged into your YouTube or Google account, YouTube can assign your surfing behavior recorded via the plugin to your other personal data. You can only prevent this by logging out of your Google or YouTube account beforehand.

If a video is started playing via the plugin, either manually or automatically, YouTube uses cookies that collect information about your user behavior. If you want to prevent this, you must completely deactivate the cookie functionality of your browser or at least block it for all Google and YouTube services.

You can find additional information in YouTube’s privacy policy.

Use of Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, etc.

We do not use scripts from other providers, because we cannot fully assess their intentions and philosophies, nor do we share them in any way. In times when our private contact books on our smartphones or even private messages in WhatsApp are used to create an accurate profile of us, we want our website to be and remain a safe place. All share functions built into our site (except for the one integrated into the plugin by YouTube) do not have any influence from third parties and only use functions that your device or browser already has.

Online presence in social media

We maintain online presences within social networks and platforms in order to be able to communicate with customers, interested parties and users active there and to inform them about our services. We would like to point out that user data may be processed outside the European Union. This may result in risks for users because it could, for example, make it more difficult to enforce users rights.

Furthermore, user data is generally processed for market research and advertising purposes. For example, user profiles can be created from user behavior and the resulting interests of users. The user profiles can in turn be used, for example, to place advertisements within and outside the platforms that presumably correspond to the interests of users. For these purposes, cookies are generally stored on users' computers in which the user behavior and interests are stored. Furthermore, data can also be stored in the user profiles regardless of the devices used by the users (particularly if the users are members of the respective platforms and are logged in to them). The processing of users' personal data is based on our legitimate interests in effectively informing users and communicating with users in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f. GDPR. If users are asked by the respective providers to consent to data processing (i.e. they declare their consent, for example, by checking a checkbox or confirming a button), the legal basis for processing is Art. 6 (1) lit. a., Art. 7 GDPR.

For a detailed description of the respective processing and the options for opting out, please refer to the information provided by the providers linked below. In the case of requests for information and the assertion of user rights, we would also like to point out that these can be asserted most effectively with the providers. Only the providers have access to the user data and can take appropriate measures and provide information directly. If you still need help, you can contact us.

CloudFlare

We use the service "Cloudflare". The provider is Cloudflare Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (hereinafter "Cloudflare").

Cloudflare offers a globally distributed content delivery network with DNS. Technically, the transfer of information between your browser and our website is routed through Cloudflare's network. This enables Cloudflare to analyze the traffic between your browser and our website and to act as a filter between our servers and potentially malicious traffic from the Internet. Cloudflare may also use cookies or other technologies to recognize Internet users, but these are only used for the purpose described here.

The use of Cloudflare is based on our legitimate interest in providing our website as error-free and secure as possible (Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR).

The data transfer to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. Details can be found here: www.cloudflare.com/media/pdf/cloudflare-customer-dpa.pdf

Cloudflare Turnstile (Captcha)

We use Cloudflare Turnstile (hereinafter "Turnstile") on this website. The provider is Cloudflare Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (hereinafter "Cloudflare").

Turnstile is designed to check whether the data entered on this website (e.g. in a contact form) is carried out by a human or by an automated program. To do this, Turnstile analyses the behaviour of the website visitor based on various characteristics.

This analysis begins automatically as soon as the website visitor enters a website with Turnstile activated. For the analysis, Turnstile evaluates various information (e.g. IP address, time spent on the website by the website visitor or mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis is forwarded to Cloudflare.

The data is stored and analyzed on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its web offerings from abusive automated spying and SPAM. If a corresponding consent has been requested, the processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and Section 25 (1) TTDSG, insofar as the consent includes the storage of cookies or access to information on the user's device (e.g. device fingerprinting) within the meaning of the TTDSG. The consent can be revoked at any time.

The data processing is based on standard contractual clauses, which you can find here: www.cloudflare.com/cloudflare-customer-scc/.

For more information about Cloudflare Turnstile, please see the privacy policy at: www.cloudflare.com/cloudflare-customer-dpa/.

Contact us via email

If you contact us by email or via the contact form, certain personal data is automatically collected (e.g. your email address or, in some cases, your name). This is technically unavoidable and is viewed by us as consent to the collection. This consent is urgently required for the assignment and subsequent answering of the request. Information that is not technically necessary or is not required to process the request is optional. All information you provide will be stored for the purpose of processing your request and for possible follow-up questions. Once the request has been processed, any personal data that is no longer required will be deleted from you in the future.

Changes to our privacy policy

We reserve the right to adapt this privacy policy at any time so that it always complies with the current legal requirements or to implement changes to our website functions in the privacy policy. The current privacy policy stored here will then apply to your next visit.
