When a tragedy puts an end to her short-lived career as a superhero, Jessica Jones settles in New York City. There she opens her own detective agency called Alias Investigations, which repeatedly gets involved in cases involving people with special abilities. Jessica suffers from post-traumatic stress syndrome and wants to do good, but her main interest is not in saving the world, but in saving her home and coping with her everyday life.
