The new film from director Zach Cregger, who has already attracted attention in the horror genre with "Barbarian" and "Weapons". "Weapons," in particular, became a horror hit in 2025, was celebrated by critics, and even earned Amy Madigan an Academy Award for Supporting Actress.
Cregger directs "Resident Evil" from a screenplay he co-wrote with Shay Hatten ("John Wick 4"). The lead role is played by Austin Abrams, also known for "Weapons" and the HBO hit "Euphoria." Other roles are played by Paul Walter Hauser ("Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere") , Zach Cherry ("Severance") , Kali Reis ("True Detective") , and Johnno Wilson ("Grapefruit").
