The Avengers have to assert themselves against a new enemy: Dr. Doom, played by none other than Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. Speculation is rife as to which heroes will feature in "Avengers 5". The opening film from 2012 was still content with six main characters - the number of protagonists has steadily increased since then. There were even rumors that the upcoming part could surpass "Endgame" with its almost 40 characters. According to the latest insider information, however, the concept will now be somewhat more modest. It is expected that the team will remain rather small - the aim is to provide a fitting send-off for the old Avengers who are still in active service. It seems as if a few of the newest heroes from the MCU will be deliberately omitted for the finale.
