The Story of Baylan Skoll will continue

The Star Wars series "Ahsoka" has recast the role of Baylan Skoll for its second season. In the first season, the character was played by Ray Stevenson. However, the actor tragically passed away in May 2023 at the age of 58.

Since then, it has been uncertain how those responsible for the series will deal with the role. Now Hollywood insider Jeff Sneider is reporting a recast. "Game of Thrones" actor Rory McCann is set to replace Stevenson.

In the fantasy series, the Brit played the popular character Sandor Clegane, better known as "the hound". Most recently, he was also seen in Ridley Scott's "Gladiator 2" in cinemas. In the Hollywood blockbuster, he played the supporting role of General Tegula.

With Baylan Skoll, McCann will now slip into the role of a former Jedi who switched to the Dark Side of the Force in the era of the New Republic. He and his student Shin-Hati were two of the antagonists in the first season of "Ahsoka". Fans of the series can now be sure that the story of Baylan Skoll will continue.

Star Wars fans have been waiting in vain for a start date for the second season of the Disney Plus series. According to TVLine, filming is scheduled to take place in spring 2025. A release on the streaming platform can therefore probably not be expected until 2026.
