Overview

In the year 965 AD, the king of Asgard led an attack against the Frost Giants of Jotunheim. The objective was stopping the threat of the Nine Realms' conquest, with the opening move being the domination of Earth. The Casket of Ancient Winters was taken by the warriors after overcoming their opponents in Norway.

Fast forward to Thor, Odin's son, about to become king. His plan was interrupted by the Frost Giants lead by Loki, his brother, who infiltrated Asgard undetected. The prince, along with some friends, traveled to Jotunheim to confront their leader Laufey. The action sparked hostility, with Odin himself getting involved. Thor's disobedience caused him to be stripped of his godly powers and exiled as a mortality with his hammer Mjolnir.

Thor landed on Earth, where he met Jane Foster and her team who found him. After finding Mjolnir's location, S.H.I.E.L.D had it, and Thor was captured by them. With someone's help, he escaped and lived in exile. Simultaneously, Loki found out that he was Laufey's son adopted by Odin himself. Loki then usurped the throne from Odin, causing chaos in Asgard.

Stranded on Earth, Thor must find a way to prove himself worthy of the hammer and its power in order to return to Asgard and stand up to Loki.
