The Electric State
Overview
The adventure film The Electric State, from the directors of Avengers: Endgame, Anthony and Joe Russo, is set in an alternate, retro-futuristic version of the 1990s, where sentient, cartoon-like robots that once peacefully served humans have been exiled after an uprising. When the robot Cosmo visits parentless teenager Michelle (Millie Bobby Brown) , it calls into question everything she thought she knew about the world: the lovable but mysterious robot appears to be controlled by Christopher, her genius younger brother whom she thought was dead. Determined to find her beloved brother again, Michelle sets off with Cosmo through the American southwest. She soon finds herself reluctantly teaming up with Keats (Chris Pratt) and Herman (voiced in the original by Anthony Mackie) , a smuggler and his always-joking robot friend. In the isolated area of the desert where the displaced robots now live, Michelle and Keats not only find a colorful group of new animatronic allies, they also uncover the sinister mystery surrounding Christopher's disappearance.
