The Testaments

The plot begins five years after the conclusion of "The Handmaid's Tale". It focuses on young women who are being prepared to serve their husbands as future wives in the fictional, authoritarian regime of Gilead. Among them are Agnes and Daisy. While Agnes is considered devout and dutiful, Daisy is a convert who is not originally from Gilead. In the strict elite institution run by Aunt Lydia, they are trained to be obedient at all times, in line with the misogynistic dictatorship that prevails in Gilead.
