Four Trailers for Avengers Doomsday: Could a Teaser Announce the Return of a Fan Favorite?
According to insider information, Chris Evans is returning as Steve Rogers!
Marvel fans can apparently look forward to more than just a first taste in the next few days: four different trailers are reportedly planned for the upcoming MCU blockbuster "Avengers: Doomsday"! According to Hollywood insider Daniel Richtman, one of them will even feature the return of Steve Rogers.
Four trailers before Avatar 3
Marvel is relying on an unusual model for the trailer release. It has been known for some time that a theatrical release is planned before "Avatar: Fire and Ash". According to industry magazine The Hollywood Reporter, all four trailers will be shown before "Avatar 3". But not all at once – instead, one new trailer per week will be shown before the blockbuster.
The four trailers will each have a different focus. According to insider MyTimeToShineHello, however, the trailers will be more like short scenes. Each of the teasers will therefore focus on a different character. These are Chris Hemsworth's Thor, Rober Downey Jrs. Doctor Doom and, surprisingly, Steve Rogers, played by Chris Evans. Which character the fourth teaser will revolve around is still uncertain.
The return of Steve Rogers?
Unlike his two co-stars, Evans' casting for "Doomsday" has not yet been revealed. The actor was last seen in "Avengers: Endgame" in his iconic role as Captain America. According to Richtman, Steve Rogers' return will not be limited to a cameo appearance. Instead, the plan is for the teaser to establish him as one of the main characters in "Doomsday".
Possible spoiler for the teaser: Steve will be shown on a motorcycle, apparently on his way home. Once there, it will be revealed that he has a son with Peggy Carter. Finally, the teaser ends with the announcement of Steve's return in "Doomsday".
Marvel fans are therefore eagerly awaiting the theatrical release of "Avatar: Fire and Ash" on December 19. It remains unclear when the various trailers will be released online. As soon as they are available, you will of course find them on our YouTube channel or in the KinoCheck app!
However, a little patience is still required until the release of the fifth "Avengers" film. "Doomsday" can be seen on the big screen from December 18, 2026. Find out all the other details and theories in our big movie preview!
The Doctor Doom teaser
A few weeks ago, the YouTube channel Film Threat reported on the content of the Doctor Doom teaser. According to their information, viewers should already get a fairly detailed impression of Robert Downey Junior's antagonist – and even see him in action. His version of Doctor Doom is compared to the classic movie monsters of Universal Studios – such as Dracula, Frankenstein's monster or the Phantom of the Opera. The villain's external and internal state is described as follows:
"Doom must have the armour because he has a broken body, scarred. [...] He needs the suit to actually function."
Dr. Doom is said to be a tragic and broken character. Downey Jr. interpretation is compared to a character like Darth Vader.
Cast & Crew of Avengers: Doomsday
"Avengers: Doomsday" and its sequel "Avengers: Secret Wars" will once again be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. After their previous successes, the brothers enjoy great trust at Marvel Studios. They already impressed audiences and critics alike with "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and "Captain America: Civil War". However, the pair reached the pinnacle with "Infinity War" and "Endgame". The blockbusters brought the Infinity saga to a successful conclusion and set new standards for superhero cinema.
