I Am Legend 2: Will Smith Shares New Information on Michael B. Jordan's Character
Originally, a prequel to "I Am Legend" was planned
There's news for fans of "I Am Legend": Will Smith chatted about the upcoming sequel to the post-apocalyptic film in an episode of the Drink Champs podcast. In the process, he shared some details about the character of "Black Panther" star Michael B. Jordan.
Time and again, there was speculation as to whether Jordan's character could be the son of Smith's character Robert Neville. However, the Hollywood star has now finally cleared things up. Jordan will not play his son. Instead, he will be the leader of a new settlement in Connecticut.
Smith also spoke about the development history of part 2. At first, he and screenwriter Akiva Goldsman had thought about a prequel. But then they decided to continue the story of "I Am Legend" by making a sequel.
As we already know, "I Am Legend 2" will continue the alternate ending of the first movie. In the original movie version, Robert Neville died, but in the alternate ending of the DVD version, he survives. Will Smith will therefore be able to take on the leading role again in part 2. Allegedly, we can now expect a big time jump of several decades.
However, we need to be patient before we can enjoy the story on the big screen, as a release date has not been announced yet. But we will of course keep you up to date as always!

The Road
In this dark and emotionally shattering movie adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's novel of the same name, we accompany a father and his son through a burnt, life-threatening world. Food is scarce and other survivors are potential enemies. "The Road" captures a similar melancholic doomsday mood as "I Am Legend" with a focus on humanity, bonding and perseverance in a seemingly hopeless world. Rarely has there been a darker post-apocalyptic movie. The main roles are played by "The Lord of the Rings" star Viggo Mortensen, "Mad Max: Fury Road" actress Charlize Theron and Kodi Smit-McPhee.
28 Days Later
A man (Cillian Murphy) wakes up from a coma and finds himself in a deserted London. A virus has turned the population into frenzied, zombie-like creatures. What follows is a breathless journey through a world ruled only by fear and instinct. The empty streets, the viral threat and the complete isolation in "28 Days Later" are reminiscent of the first scenes in "I Am Legend". At the same time, this movie also poses profound questions about the nature of humanity. After "28 Weeks Later", the third film in the series, "28 Years Later", will be released in cinemas on June 20, 2025.
Children of Men
In a future in which no more children are born, mankind is slowly threatened with extinction. Hope emerges when a young woman suddenly becomes pregnant - and a disillusioned man does everything in his power to bring her to safety. "Children of Men" offers a realistic, bleak vision of the future, coupled with the search for meaning and redemption. The movie was directed by Mexican director Alfonso Cuarón, who has also created other works such as "Gravity" and "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban". The cast includes Clive Owen, Julianne Moore, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Michael Caine.
A Quiet Place
"A Quiet Place" takes place in a world haunted by noisy, deadly creatures. The movie shows a family that has to live in complete silence. Any sound can mean the end. The story is a thriller, family portrait and survival drama all in one. The constant threat of invisible monsters, survival in a hostile world and the focus on interpersonal relationships... all of this ties in well with the atmosphere of "I Am Legend". The movie starring Emily Blunt and John Krasinski has so far resulted in two more parts: "A Quiet Place 2" and "A Quiet Place: Day One".
Oblivion
Jack is stationed as a technician on the deserted Earth to secure resources, until he discovers that his reality is based on lies. "Oblivion" is a story about identity, truth and humanity in a futuristic world. Isolation, a barren, deserted world and the search for the meaning behind one's own existence are the core topics of the movie. The leading role is played by "Mission: Impossible" star Tom Cruise.
