A Comprehensive Look at Upcoming Movie and Series Trailers
2025 is slowly coming to an end and we want to take a look at the rest of the year. Which upcoming movie and series highlights might give us a fresh look? What about Christopher Nolan's hotly anticipated action epic "The Odyssey", the big MCU blockbuster "Avengers: Doomsday" or the final season of "The Boys"? We've taken a close look at the cinema and streaming calendar and are hoping for some major trailers. At the same time, you'll get another overview of the latest trailers for upcoming blockbusters!
Science fiction highlights: From Star Wars to Steven Spielberg
With "The Mandalorian & Grogu", two of the most popular characters from the recent "Star Wars" era will be seen on the big screen for the first time in 2026. The movie not only marks the return of the saga to the cinema after a break of several years, but also continues the story of Din Djarin and Grogu ("Baby Yoda"). After the first trailer was released in September, the second trailer could possibly await us towards the end of 2025 – perhaps with a little more story details. The theatrical release is scheduled for May 22, 2026. You can watch the first trailer again here.

With "Project Hail Mary", one of the most popular sci-fi novels of recent years will be adapted as a film in 2026. The book has an incredible rating of 4.5/5 on the rating platform Goodreads. The plot: Science teacher Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling) wakes up on a spaceship light years from home with no recollection of who he is or how he got there. As his memory returns, he begins to uncover his mission: solve the riddle of the mysterious substance causing the sun to die out. He must call on his scientific knowledge and unorthodox ideas to save everything on Earth from extinction. There has already been a first trailer – we hope for more! After all, the film is due to be released on March 20, 2026.

Steven Spielberg, one of the greatest directors of our time, is set to make a comeback in 2026. His latest film, which will probably be called "The Dish", will be released on June 12. The cast includes "Challengers" actor Josh O'Connor, Hollywood star Emily Blunt and Colin Firth. Very little is known about the project so far – but it is said to be about UFOs. In any case, we are very excited to see what exactly we can expect here.
The superhero films of 2026: From the MCU to the DCU
One of the biggest films of 2026 is without question "Avengers: Doomsday". According to insider reports, we can expect the MCU highlight this year. Reportedly, the trailer will initially be presented exclusively in cinemas before Disney's next big blockbuster "Avatar: Fire and Ash". We have summarized all the information on the possible trailer release for you here – including initial details on Robert Downey Junior's interpretation of the villain Dr. Doom. The theatrical release awaits us on December 18, 2026.
And what about "Spider-Man: Brand New Day"? Filming is already underway, so a teaser could be possible. But a trailer release in spring 2026 wouldn't surprise us either. The theatrical release is scheduled for July 31, 2026.
There are justified hopes for a first teaser for the next DCU film "Supergirl". A look back reveals that the first trailer for "Superman" was released in December 2024 – with a cinema release in summer 2025. If this concept is to be maintained for "Supergirl", we could expect a trailer in December. After all, the blockbuster starring Milly Alcock will be released on June 26, 2026. You can find all the information already known in our movie preview!

Animated films: From Minions 3 to Toy Story 5
At Christmas, we can look forward to a new film of the animated classic with "The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants". A first trailer has already been released, but we expect another one before the film hits cinemas on December 19. And more footage from the new film "Hoppers" could also be released this year. The start date is March 6, 2026, and you can get an impression with the first trailer here.

Two animation highlights await us in summer 2026: "Minions 3" and "Toy Story 5". There will be a reunion with the Minions on July 1, while "Toy Story 5" can be seen in cinemas from June 19. There hasn't been a real trailer for either of them yet – we hope this will change this year. However, a trailer release in spring 2026 would also be possible for both titles. If you want to know what you can expect in the fifth "Toy Story": Take a look at our movie preview!

The next big video game adaptation: The Super Mario Galaxy Movie
In 2026, we can expect the sequel to one of the most successful video game adaptations ever: "The Super Mario Galaxy Movie". Recently, insider reports have been doing the rounds suggesting that it won't stop there. There are even plans for an entire Cinematic Universe. You can find all the information here. A first teaser has already been released – we are hoping for a real trailer that will give us an insight into the story. The "Super Mario Galaxy Movie" will be released in cinemas on April 3, 2026.

The action highlights: From "The Odyssey" to "Mortal Kombat 2"
One of the biggest highlights of 2026 is, of course, the new Christopher Nolan film "The Odyssey". The mythical action epic brings an equally epic cast in front of the camera and will be released in cinemas on July 17, 2026. No trailer has been released yet – but there is a good chance that this will change soon. His last masterpiece "Oppenheimer" was also released in cinemas in July – and the trailer in December. A teaser has already been shown in some cinemas, but not released to a wide audience. You can find out what was shown in it and which Hollywood stars are part of the cast in our movie preview.

After "Greenland", "Greenland 2: Migration" awaits us at the beginning of next year. The disaster film sequel has already received its first trailer, but another one is likely to be released later this year. After all, the movie is already scheduled for release on January 9. We are also hoping for a second trailer for "Mortal Kombat 2". After a postponement of the theatrical release, it now awaits us on May 8, 2026. You can watch the first trailer again here.

And there are other big films that could receive a trailer soon. These include the live-action adaptations of "Masters of the Universe" (theatrical release: June 5, 2026) and "Moana" (theatrical release: July 10). Find out everything you need to know about the live-action version of "Moana" in our movie preview.

The horror year 2026
We can also expect a number of horror films in 2026. These include the "M3GAN" spin-off "Soulm8te" (theatrical release: January 9, 2026) and "Return to Silent Hill" (theatrical release: January 23). We expect trailers for both films soon due to the imminent release date.
The sequel "Ready or Not 2: Here I Come" (theatrical release: April 10) and the new "The Mummy" film by Lee Cronin (cinema release: April 17) will be released in April. Trailers may also be released this year. Parallel to Cronin's "The Mummy", a new "Mummy" film starring Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz is also in development. You can find all the information here. If you want to know more about Cronin's "The Mummy", you can take a look at our movie preview.

The cult film sequel: The Devil Wears Prada 2
"The Devil Wears Prada" is an absolute cult film for many fans – and the sequel is not far away. The stars of the original are back: Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt. The theatrical release of "The Devil Wears Prada 2" is scheduled for May 1, 2026. A trailer or teaser in 2025 is therefore not out of the question.
Upcoming series highlights: From Fallout to The Boys
Of course, it's not just cinema highlights that await us; there are also some highly anticipated series in the streaming sector. This naturally includes the big series finale of "The Boys". We hope that we will soon be able to get a first glimpse in the form of a teaser or trailer. The reason: the press tour for the fifth season starts on December 6 at CCXP in Brazil. Series creator Eric Kripke and some cast members will be present at the event. We hope that the first footage will be available for the fans.
Further trailers could also await us from "Fallout" Season 2 or the "Yellowstone" spin-off "Y: Marshals". And the "Game of Thrones" spin-off "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" should also receive a second trailer. After all, the series will premiere on January 18, 2026. You can watch the first trailer here.
