The Zelda games inspire a large number of players. The interest in a film adaptation of the action adventure is therefore enormous. The official announcement that a live-action adaptation is in the works has therefore caused great excitement among fans. Similar to the "Super Mario Bros. Movie", Nintendo will act as the main producer and, according to rumors, will provide a significant portion of the budget. In addition to Nintendo, Sony is also involved and will bring the "Zelda" film to cinemas.
The producer of the film will be Avi Arad, founder of Marvel Studios and himself the producer of numerous Marvel films, including "Spider-Man". The film will be directed by Wes Ball, who made a name for himself with his "Maze Runner" films and will also be responsible for "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes". The screenplay will be written by Derek Connolly, who has already gained experience with video game adaptations through his work on "Pokemon: Detective Pikachu" and is also involved in the as yet unrealized "Metal Gear Solid" film adaptation.
