The franchise has enjoyed great popularity in the community since 1979 and is now to be relaunched with a film. Legendary and Netflix, which are currently developing animated adaptations of "Skull Island" and "Tomb Raider," are joining forces for this. It's not exactly clear what the "Gundam" remake will be about, but there are already numerous anime series, spin-offs and video games, all of which should provide enough space for a new story. Comic book writer Brian K. Vaughan will be responsible for the screenplay, while Jordan Vogt-Roberts will direct.
