Two chimney sweeps who are friends—both living in monogamous, heterosexual marriages—find themselves in situations that challenge their views on sexuality and gender roles. One has a sexual encounter with another man without viewing it as an expression of homosexuality or infidelity, and subsequently discusses it with his wife. The other is thrown off balance by a sensual dream about David Bowie.
