Overview

Martin Scorsese's overwhelming Oscar and Golden Globe-nominated drama shows an insecure Jesus on his way to his father and God. In search of his identity, he is torn between body and soul. Jesus, played by Willem Dafoe, is put to a great test and repeatedly lured by worldly temptations. At Jesus' request, his disciple Judas betrays him. During his own crucifixion, Jesus experiences a vision of life as Mary Magdalene's husband and father.
