Overview

The drama series "10,000 Ships" is supposed to be about the warrior princess Nymeria. Among other things, she is the namesake for Arya's direwolf as well as for one of the sand serpents from Dorne. In the book, Nymeria leads the exiled Rhoynar people, who succumbed to the Valyrian Frigate in the Second Spice War, from Essos to Westeros. This migration takes place about 1,000 years before the events leading up to "Game of Thrones." Nymeria settles her people in Westeros and marries Lord Mors Martell. The ancestor of the House of Martell is considered the co-founder of the Kingdom of Dorne.
