Luden: Könige der Reeperbahn
Overview
Hamburg, early 1980s: With the sexual revolution, drugs and the disco wave, the Reeperbahn mutates into a party mile. In the stuffy Bonn Republic, St. Pauli is the place of longing and freedom for people of all genders, skin colors and origins. It is during this time that the rise of sunny boy Klaus Barkowsky begins. He is turned into a pimp by the tough prostitute Jutta and founds a pimp cartel with a group of half-strikers. A power struggle begins with the established brothels of the GMBH, who control the neighborhood with their gang and make the big money. But with the AIDS crisis the business implodes and with the coke wave madness and violence follow.
