News from Wednesday: Next year we can finally look forward to the second season of Tim Burton's popular Netflix series. Now we've got the first picture!

The picture shows Wednesday Addams, played by Jenna Ortega, with her arms crossed. A mysterious gate looms in the background. Next to Wednesday are two eerie statues, somewhat reminiscent of the dementors from "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban".

The cast of "Wednesday" season 2 really has it all: the main actress Jenna Ortega, Catherine Zeta-Jones as her mother Morticia and Luis Guzmán as her father Gomez are of course back. New additions include Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper and Christopher Lloyd - who already played Uncle Fester in the first "Addams Family" film. Also in a previously unknown role: Lady Gaga. Previously, a fan video went viral in which her hit "Bloody Mary" was mixed with dance footage of Jenna Ortega's Wednesday.

There is no precise information about the plot yet. However, it is rumored that Morticia Addams will play a much bigger role in the second season. She is set to take on the position of principal at Nevermore Academy, which could further develop the family dynamic. According to Jenna Ortega, there will also be much more action than before. They want to move away from the love triangle between Wednesday, Xavier and Taylor and focus more on horror. We are excited!

The career of Jenna Ortega: from a child star to a celebrated Hollywood talent

Jenna Ortega, born September 27, 2002 in Coachella Valley, California, has emerged to one of Hollywood's most exciting young talents in recent years. With impressive acting skills and a natural presence in front of the camera, she has secured herself a permanent place in the entertainment industry. This article takes a look at her journey from her early days to her recent successes.

The early years and first roles

Jenna Ortega began her acting career at a remarkably young age. At the age of six, she expressed her desire to become an actress, inspired by the films and series she watched as a child. Supported by her mother and her talent agent, she quickly received her first role offers.

Jenna made her television debut in 2012 in the hit series "Rob", where she appeared in a guest role. This was followed shortly afterwards by smaller roles in well-known series such as "CSI: NY" and "Rake". In 2013, she made her first appearance on the big screen in the superhero film "Iron Man 3", where she played the daughter of the US Vice President. Although the role was small, it marked an important milestone for the aspiring actress.

The breakthrough with Disney

Jenna Ortega's big breakthrough came in 2016 with the lead role in the Disney Channel series "Stuck in the Middle". In the series, she played Harley Diaz, the creative and imaginative middle child of a family of nine. Her performance earned her much praise as she managed to portray the challenges and dynamics of a large family with humor and heart.

The series ran for three seasons and made Ortega a familiar face among younger viewers. Her time at Disney not only helped her establish herself in the entertainment industry, but also showed her versatility as an actress. She was able to master both comedy and emotional depth, which made her interesting for future projects.

Transition into more serious roles

After the end of "Stuck in the Middle", Ortega wanted to move her career forward in a new way and break away from her Disney image. She achieved this with a role in the Netflix series "You" (2018), a dark and psychologically complex show that differt a lot from her previous projects. In the second season, she played Ellie Alves, a young girl who finds herself in the dangerous world of protagonist Joe Goldberg. Her performance was highly praised by critics as she managed to convey the vulnerability and strength of her character in a believable way.

Jenna Ortega also made a name for herself on the big screen during this time. In 2021, she played a leading role in the drama "The Fallout", which showed her broad talent. The film, which deals with the psychological impact of a school massacre, received great acclaim at film festivals and was described as deeply moving by critics. Ortega received high praise for her portrayal of the traumatized student Vada and proved that she was willing to tackle difficult subjects.

Success in the horror genre

One area in which Ortega has particularly excelled is the horror genre. With films such as "Scream" (2022) and "X" (2022), she established herself as the new face of modern horror. In "Scream", a sequel to the legendary slasher series, she took on the role of Tara Carpenter, who is a central character in the brutal events of the film. Her performance was praised for its emotional intensity and authenticity.

In Ti West's "X", she played a young woman trapped in a horror movie set in the 1970s. Both films helped to further cement her image as a versatile actress and showed that she does not fear to portray challenging or physically intense roles.

Wednesday and the international breakthrough

Another milestone in her career was her role in the Netflix series "Wednesday" (2022). In the show, which is based on the famous Addams Family series, Ortega took on the title role and gave the character a new, modern interpretation. With her dry humor and ability to portray a complex character, she won the hearts of viewers worldwide. The series was a huge success and brought Ortega not only international recognition, but also several nominations and awards.

Jenna Ortega: A voice of her generation

Alongside her acting career, Jenna Ortega is committed to social issues and uses her platform to draw attention to important causes. She is an advocate for mental health, diversity and equality. Her commitment and openness in interviews make her a voice of her generation, inspiring and motivating young people.
