Although "F1" starring Brad Pitt has only been in cinemas for a week, it is already proving to be a success: the action film made 146.3 million dollars on its opening weekend. So it's no wonder that, according to Variety, a sequel is already being planned.

Whether this will actually happen remains to be seen. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, director Joseph Kosinski expressed his optimism: Quote:

"I loved working with this group of people. I loved creating our own Formula One team. I'd love to see what's up next for APXGP and Sonny Hayes."

The story about the returning ex-F1 driver Sonny Hayes, team boss Kate McKenna and the fictitious APXGP team was deliberately told openly. There is certainly potential for further films, but a concrete decision has not yet been made. However, if the film continues to impress at the box office, we could possibly be looking at a new franchise. We'll keep you up to date!
