Fans of the iconic video game series "The Legend of Zelda" can rejoice: the long-awaited live-action film adaptation is set to be released in cinemas on March 26, 2027. Fittingly, a rumor from the experienced Hollywood insider Daniel Richtman is now making the rounds that "Euphoria" star Hunter Schafer is being considered for the role of Princess Zelda.

Fans have long believed Schafer to be the ideal candidate for the role – not least because of her striking facial features, which are strongly reminiscent of the popular video game character. However, nothing has been officially confirmed yet. But the very speculation about Schafer as Princess Zelda is already sparking enthusiasm. If Nintendo, together with Sony, were to specifically go for such a cast, the hype surrounding the film adaptation could be fueled early on.

Interestingly, Hunter Schafer had already admitted to being a big fan of the game series back in 2023. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, she expressed her delight at the mere idea of playing Zelda:

"That would be cool. I played that video game a bunch when I was a kid. That's such a good game."

"The Legend of Zelda" revolves around the young warrior Link, who has to save the magical kingdom of Hyrule from impending darkness. The sinister warlord and sorcerer Ganon is in search of the legendary Triforce, an ancient artifact with limitless power. In order to stop him, Link must embark on a dangerous journey, traverse dark dungeons, solve puzzles and defeat powerful enemies. Only with the help of sacred artifacts can he restore balance to the world. It is currently unknown who will play the role of Link.

Hunter Schafer – An Up-And-Coming Icon Between Fashion, Television and Film

Hunter Schafer has developed into one of the most exciting newcomers in the world of film and television in recent years. She became famous for her role as Jules Vaughn in the acclaimed HBO series "Euphoria", but her career goes far beyond this role. The actress, model and activist has an extraordinary presence, a clear attitude and an impressive range of projects. Although her filmography is still comparatively young, she already shows an artistic depth and versatility that points to a great future.

The Breakthrough with "Euphoria" (2019-)

Hunter Schafer entered the acting world with a bang: in "Euphoria", a drama series developed by Sam Levinson, she took on the role of trans teenager Jules Vaughn. Her acting debut was immediately celebrated by critics and viewers alike. The character of Jules is not only central to the plot, but also one of the most complex and multi-layered roles in the series. Schafer not only brings authentic acting to the table, but has also been actively involved in the development of her character – particularly in the special episode "Fuck Anyone Who's Not a Sea Blob", which she co-wrote with Levinson.

With "Euphoria", Schafer not only became a symbol of queer representation in mainstream television, but also one of the most influential voices of her generation. Her performance earned her a nomination for the MTV Movie & TV Award and a growing international fan base.

"Cuckoo" (2024): The First Major Feature Film

In 2024, the time had come: Hunter Schafer celebrated her feature film debut in a leading role with the psychological thriller "Cuckoo". The movie, directed by Tilman Singer, is a stylistically idiosyncratic work set in a mysterious Alpine clinic. Schafer plays the young Gretchen, who gets caught up with her family in a mysterious environment in which reality and madness seem to blur. In "Cuckoo", Schafer once again demonstrates her ability to credibly portray sensitive and vulnerable characters. Her performance has been positively received at film festivals such as the Berlinale and is considered proof of her great talent in cinema.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes" (2023)

In the prequel to the "Hunger Games" series, "The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes", Schafer was seen in 2023 as Tigris Snow – the extravagant cousin of Coriolanus Snow. With this role, she proved that she can also hold her own in big blockbuster productions. The character of Tigris is visually and emotionally striking – something that suits Schafer perfectly.

Between Fashion, Film and Activism

Hunter Schafer is not only an actress, but also a sought-after fashion icon. As a trans woman and LGBTQ+ activist, she uses her platform to draw attention to social injustices and advocate for more diversity in the entertainment industry. This attitude is also reflected in her choice of roles: she always embodies characters with depth, inner conflict and clear emotional development.

Conclusion

Whether as a series star, film actress or voice actress – Hunter Schafer impressively demonstrates how diverse modern acting can be. Her filmography is still small, but full of substance and style. With each new role, she not only expands her own repertoire, but also the possibilities of how queer identity can be portrayed in film. The future is hers.
