Another adventure on Arrakis is on its way – and of course fans are right to wonder which stars will join Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya in "Dune 3". According to the industry magazine Deadline, Robert Pattinson is now being considered for the role of the antagonist.

It is believed to be Scytale, a so-called Face Dancer or shape changer and member of the mysterious Bene Tleilax. The character made his debut in Frank Herbert's 1969 novel "Dune Messiah" and plays a central role in the power struggle against Paul Atreides. Together with the Guild Navigator Edric, the Reverend Mother Mohiam and Princess Irulan, played by Florence Pugh, Scytale weaves intrigues to overthrow the Emperor.

But there's more: Nexus Point News reports that a significant time jump will take place with the appearance of Paul and Chani's children – Leto and Ghanima. The revolutionary Farok is also expected to become a major part of the story. Casting for these new characters is currently underway. A few weeks ago, an announcement also went viral that Jason Momoa would be back as Duncan Idaho. This decision shouldn't come as a big surprise to those familiar with the original book.

Filming on "Dune 3" is set to begin this July and continue until the end of the year. Denis Villeneuve will remain involved as a writer and director, bringing his vision of the "Dune" saga to a conclusion. It will also be exciting to find out how Pattinson's potential commitment can be coordinated with his role as Batman – should he accept the role in "Dune", "The Batman 2" is unlikely to be made before the beginning of 2026 at the earliest. "Dune 3: Messiah", meanwhile, could be released as early as December 18, 2026. We can't wait to see if it stays that way!

Blade Runner 2049 (2017)

If you enjoyed the style of "Dune", "Blade Runner 2049" is a must-see. Villeneuve was also in charge here – and his signature style is clearly evident: slow camera shots, an atmospheric soundtrack and a dystopian, detailed world. The themes of identity, humanity and the future of civilization are dealt with in a philosophical manner.

Arrival (2016)

Another Villeneuve masterpiece. "Arrival" is a quiet, profound science fiction film about language, time and communication. Without any bombastic action, the movie tells an emotional and at the same time intellectually challenging story – ideal for all "Dune" fans who like to reflect on what they have seen.
