The potential cast of the new "X-Men" movie directed by Jake Schreier is generating a lot of buzz. For a few months now, rumors have been circulating that Charles Melton was supposedly set to play the superhero Beast. However, Daniel Richtman, also known as DanielRPK, has now commented on the matter: According to the insider, Melton is no longer on board for the Marvel blockbuster.

Previously, there had been speculation that the film's cast would be officially announced at this year's Disney event D23 (August 14–16). However, following Melton's alleged departure, there are doubts about it. It remains to be seen what, if anything, will ultimately be revealed about the "X-Men" adaptation at D23. And the reports about Charles Melton are, at this point, merely speculation and should therefore be taken with a grain of salt.

Beast: With the X-Men from the very beginning

Many may recognize Melton from the anthology series "Beef." He also appears in the latest film by director and screenwriter Nicolas Winding Refn: In the sci-fi thriller "Her Private Hell," he plays a central role alongside Sophie Thatcher. As Beast, aka Hank McCoy, he would have portrayed one of the original "X-Men" members.

The character has existed in Marvel Comics since 1963. Beast is characterized by superhuman strength and agility and possesses a brilliant mind. Visually, the superhero has changed significantly over time. The mutant was given a blue, animal-like look that has been refined time and again. In the "X-Men" films to date, the superhero has been portrayed by Kelsey Grammer and Nicholas Hoult.

Kit Connor as Cyclops

It will be interesting to see who will play Hank McCoy in the future. Things are currently clearer regarding another "X-Men" member who, just like Beast, made his debut in Marvel's comic books back in 1963: Cyclops. Last week, it was reported that Kit Connor is reportedly set to play the role. Most people probably know the actor as the lead in the coming-of-age series "Heartstopper." He will also appear in Alex Garland's upcoming fantasy film "Elden Ring."

As Cyclops, aka Scott Summers – whose eyes are the source of a destructive, red-glowing energy – he would play one of the most important characters in "X-Men" history. Not only because he is one of the leaders of the superhero team, but also because he has already played a central role in numerous storylines. In previous film adaptations, Cyclops was portrayed by James Marsden and Tye Sheridan.

Samara Weaving as Emma Frost

There have also been recent reports about the casting of Emma Frost. The mutant is set to be played by Samara Weaving. The actress is known, among other things, as the star of the two "Ready or Not" films. She was also part of the cast of the series "Nine Perfect Strangers."

Emma Frost, also known as the White Queen, made her debut in the "X-Men" comics 46 years ago. She possesses telepathic powers and can transform her body into an organic diamond form. At first, she was an antagonist of the X-Men. However, she later switched sides and joined the superhero team. In the "X-Men" movie "First Class," "Mad Men" actress January Jones played Emma Frost. We're excited to see how Samara Weaving does in the role – and which other stars will appear in the "X-Men" reboot.
