Vin Diesel is once again fueling fans' anticipation: At Fuel Fest in Pomona, California, the star of the "Fast & Furious" series gave an update on the grand finale. According to Variety, there are even plans to bring back Paul Walker's character Brian O'Conner for "Fast and Furious 11"!

Brian O'Conner, played by Walker, was one of the figureheads of the action series before the actor died in a car accident in 2013. Since then, his character has lived on in the film universe, but has withdrawn from the action. In part 7, he was bid farewell with the help of Paul's brothers Caleb and Cody and digital effects – a scene that remains one of the emotional highlights of the series for many fans to this day.

How exactly Brian O'Conner will be integrated into "Fast and Furious 11" is still unclear. It will probably be a rather small appearance, technically realized through digital rejuvenation and body doubles. Thanks to modern CGI technology, such as that used in "Indiana Jones 5: The Dial of Destiniy", a credible return seems entirely feasible. Whether this will be well received by the fans, however, is another question.

Part 11 is expected to be released in cinemas in April 2027. An exact date has yet to be set, but spring 2027 is the official target. Diesel also revealed that he gave the studio three conditions before agreeing to the plan: the film had to be set in Los Angeles, return to classic street racing and bring back Brian O'Conner. "Fast and Furious 11" will once again be directed by Louis Leterrier, who had already replaced Justin Lin in the previous film.

Paul Walker's best-known films at a glance

Paul Walker was not only one of Hollywood's best-known faces of the 2000s and early 2010s, but also an actor whose career was closely linked to speed, action and heart. The actor, who died in 2013, became world-famous primarily through the "Fast & Furious" series, but his filmography extends far beyond screeching tires and fast cars. In this article, we take a look at Paul Walker's most famous films – works that shaped his career and are still remembered by fans today.

Fast & Furious series (2001-2015)

Without question, "The Fast and the Furious" from 2001 was Paul Walker's big breakthrough. As undercover cop Brian O'Conner, he infiltrated the illegal street racer scene in Los Angeles and soon became a loyal friend of Dominic Toretto (played by Vin Diesel). The chemistry between Diesel and Walker formed the emotional center of the series. Paul Walker appeared in a total of seven films in the franchise – including, for example, "2 Fast 2 Furious" (2003), in which he took on the lead role without Diesel for the first time, "Fast & Furious" (2009) and "Fast Five" (2011).

His last posthumous appearance was in "Fast & Furious 7" (2015). With the help of CGI and his brothers Caleb and Cody Walker, his role was brought to a touching conclusion. The scene in which Brian and Dom go their separate ways is still considered one of the most moving moments in the film series – and a worthy farewell for Paul Walker.

Joy Ride (2001)

The thriller "Joy Ride" was released in the same year as his "Fast & Furious" debut. In this thrilling road movie, Walker plays a young man who, together with his brother (played by Steve Zahn) and a girlfriend (Leelee Sobieski), gets caught up in a deadly game of cat and mouse with a psychotic truck driver. The movie was a small surprise hit and proved that Walker could do more than just look pretty – he could carry suspense and play believable dramatic roles.

Into the Blue (2005)

In "Into the Blue", Paul Walker once again showed his talent for adventure action. Alongside Jessica Alba, he plays a diver in the Bahamas who discovers a sunken plane – complete with explosive cargo. The film combined suspense with spectacular underwater shots and contributed to its popularity, not least thanks to Walker's charisma. Although the film received a mixed reception from critics, it later developed into a cult favorite.

Running Scared (2006)

With "Running Scared", Walker ventured into a dark, brutal thriller drama. Here he played a small-time gangster who has to make a gun disappear before it falls into the wrong hands. The film was stylistically unusual and risky – a bold move for Walker, who played a more complex, darker character. Even though the film was not a box office hit, Walker received much praise for his intense performance.

Hours (2013)

One of the last films Paul Walker made before his death was the drama "Hours". The story takes place during Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. Walker plays a father whose newborn child is hooked up to life-support machines in hospital – and who struggles to survive during the storm. In a role that focuses entirely on emotion and humanity, Walker proves that he can also be a profound actor away from action.

Eight Below (2006)

In "Eight Below", Walker shows his gentler side. Based on a true story, it is about an Antarctic explorer who has to leave his sled dogs behind – and later does everything he can to rescue them. The emotionally narrated adventure film was particularly popular with families and showed Paul Walker as a committed and compassionate hero.

Conclusion

Paul Walker not only left behind an impressive filmography, but also a lasting legacy as an actor who was appreciated for his down-to-earth attitude and humanity. His films - from adrenaline-fueled street racing to emotional family dramas – show an astonishing range that goes far beyond the image of the action hero. He remains alive in the hearts of his fans to this day.
