A few weeks ago, we received the surprising news that there will be a sequel to Quentin Tarantino's "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" – from master director David Fincher! Now we have the first details about the plot and the title.

Journalist Mike Fleming Jr. from the industry magazine Deadline recently conducted an interview with "Sinners" star Michael B. Jordan. The two also discussed the sequel to "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood", with the journalist revealing some new details about the project. According to his information, the title of the film is "The Continuing Adventures of Cliff Booth". As in the 2019 film, the role of Cliff Booth will be played by Hollywood star Brad Pitt.

First Plot Details

According to Deadline, however, the character will change professionally. While Booth was still seen as a stuntman in the first movie, he will now be working as a fixer in Hollywood in the sequel. Fixers are not uncommon behind the scenes in Hollywood, discreetly solving problems in the entertainment industry.

Who Is Behind "The Continuing Adventures of Cliff Booth"?

The screenplay for the film is penned by the director and writer of the first part: Quentin Tarantino. The cult director has long announced that he only wants to direct ten movies in his career. "The Continuing Adventures of Cliff Booth" will therefore probably not be his tenth and final project, as the film will be directed by David Fincher.

With Tarantino and Fincher, two absolute film legends are working together on the project. The two are among the most renowned directors in Hollywood. Filming is reportedly set to begin in the summer of 2025. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie will be released on Netflix. However, there is no release date yet.

What Is "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" About?

The first film is set in the late 60s. It centers on the washed-up western actor Rick Dalton (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) and his stuntman Cliff Booth. Tarantino interweaves the plot with real historical events, particularly those surrounding the Manson family and actress Sharon Tate (played by Margot Robbie). The film thrives on its dense atmosphere and the detailed reconstruction of the late 1960s. With his typical style – long dialogue scenes, laconic humor and a sudden escalation of violence – Tarantino once again manages to win over his fans.

David Fincher and Quentin Tarantino

It will be interesting to see what David Fincher's sequel will look like. After all, the styles of the two directors are very different. Tarantino's films are characterized by a narrative style with non-linear storylines, extended dialogue scenes, stylized violence and numerous pop-cultural references. His works often have a laconic, sometimes ironic tone and rely on exaggeration.

David Fincher, on the other hand, takes a different approach: his movies are dark, atmospherically dense and psychologically complex. Fincher works with darker colors and precise camera work, creating stylish images. He mostly devotes himself to thrillers, but they are also intense character studies.

The Best-Known Movies by David Fincher

His best-known works include the dark serial killer thriller "Se7en" with Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman, which is famous for its vibe and unforgettable ending. Fincher achieved cult status with "Fight Club", a provocative examination of consumer criticism, images of masculinity and identity. "Zodiac", a detailed true-crime drama about the hunt for the Zodiac Killer, was also highly praised by critics. "The Social Network" is the story of the rise of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.

In 2011, the director adapted the Swedish novel "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" starring Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara. Like many of his works, "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" is a stylish crime thriller. The "Bond" actor plays the investigative journalist Mikael Blomkvist, who looks into a decades-old mystery together with hacker Lisbeth Salander. "Gone Girl" with Ben Affleck and a convincing Rosamund Pike is also an adaptation of a novel. The movie tells the story of Nick Dunne, whose wife Amy disappears without a trace. Nick is soon targeted by the public and the police as the prime suspect. With a dark ambience and surprising twists, the film dissects themes such as media manipulation, marriage, identity and the abysses of human relationships.
