The Fix: New action movie starring Liam Neeson – Details about the plot are already out
Originally, the thriller was supposed to be called Hotel Tehran
The next action movie starring Liam Neeson is on the way. In "The Fix," he will star alongside Zachary Levi and Quincy Isaiah. The film was originally titled "Hotel Tehran," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Plot details are already available. The action thriller centers on a group of former CIA operators who plan to carry out a daring rescue operation in the Iranian capital, Tehran. In doing so, they hope to redeem themselves after a failed mission in Afghanistan. The theatrical release of "The Fix" is scheduled for September 11, 2026.
According to the director, The Fix is not just about the action
The director is Guy Moshe, who co-wrote the screenplay with Mark Bacci and Ron Hutchinson. According to the industry magazine Variety, the script was based on an idea by Bazzel Baz, a former CIA Intelligence Special Operations Group Officer. "The Fix" is produced by David Lipper, Robert A. Daly Jr., Wendy Sweetmore, Marina Grasic, Justin Oberman, Shalom Eisenbach, Ryan Winterstern, and Guy Moshe. In the article of The Hollywood Reporter, the director says of his film:
"'The Fix' was born from a long-standing desire of mine to put audiences inside the chaos and moral weight of war, not just the action of it. Working with an ensemble cast that was entirely committed to our cause, led by Liam and Zac, who set the tone, allowed me to push the story into deeply human territory while still delivering the visceral, large-scale filmmaking this genre demands."
Liam Neeson remains true to the action genre
Liam Neeson's casting shows that, even at 74, the actor has no intention of saying goodbye to the action genre. Ever since the blockbuster "Taken," at the very latest, he seems to have had a particular fondness for stories that thrive primarily on suspense – and for a hero who is repeatedly backed into a corner yet still finds a way to survive it all. This applies not only to the "Taken" sequels but also to various other films such as "Unknown," "The Grey," "Non-Stop," and "Retribution." Last year brought a bit of a surprise when he played the lead role in the latest installment of the comedy film series "The Naked Gun" – essentially poking fun at the image he'd built up for himself over the years through numerous action films.
In addition to Liam Neeson, "The Fix" features a number of other interesting actors. Among them is Zachary Levi, who has appeared in the superhero film "Shazam!" as well as its sequel "Shazam! Fury of the Gods." There's also Quincy Isaiah, who played basketball legend Magic Johnson in the sports series "Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty." The cast also includes Jake Choi, Augusto Aguilera, Navid Negahban, Elnaaz Norouzi, Grant Harvey, Lara Wolf, and Annet Mahendru. With Wes Chatham and Titus Welliver, there are also two actors on board who are likely to be particularly exciting for series fans. Chatham starred in the sci-fi series "The Expanse," where he was one of the main characters from the very beginning as Amos Burton. Meanwhile, many viewers know Welliver as Detective Hieronymus "Harry" Bosch from the crime series "Bosch."
