Evil Does Not Exist
Overview
Takumi and his daughter Hana live in the village of Mizubiki near Tokyo. Like generations before them, they lead a modest life in harmony with the cycles of the year and the order of nature. One day, the villagers become aware of a plan to build a luxury campsite near Takumi's house, offering city dwellers a comfortable "retreat" surrounded by greenery. When two representatives of the company from Tokyo that wants to implement the project arrive in the village for a meeting, it becomes clear that their plans will have a negative impact on the local water supply and cause unrest in the village. The company's contradictory intentions are a threat to both the ecological balance of the unique natural landscape around Mizubiki and the way of life of its inhabitants - with consequences that have a profound impact on Takumi's life.
