Overview

Strange deaths occur at the Basilica de la Macarena in Seville, which is scheduled for demolition. First an architect dies, soon after the priest Urbizu is killed by a falling chain pulley. The Pope in Rome learns of the mysterious events through a hacker who calls himself Vespers. The latter claims that the Church itself is killing to defend itself. The Vatican sends Quart to Seville, one of its best secret agents. He encounters more and more corruption, inconsistencies and powers that want to prevent his investigation at all costs. When Quart falls in love with the beautiful Macarena Bruner, it doesn't make his task any easier.
