Overview

The first installment of the "Indiana Jones" series is set in the 1930s and follows archaeologist and adventurer Indiana Jones, who is hired by the American authorities to find the Ark of the Covenant. The biblical artifact is said to contain the Ten Commandments of God and is sought by the Nazis, who hope to gain supernatural powers through it. Indy travels to Nepal to meet with his former lover, Marion Ravenwood. She is the daughter of Indy's mentor and in possession of a medallion which is the headpiece to the Staff of Ra. This is needed to locate the whereabouts of the Ark of the Covenant. However, the Nazis are already on their trail. Indy and Marion escape and embark on a dangerous journey to Egypt, where the Ark of the Covenant is believed to be hidden. Can Indy and Marion outrun the Nazis and bring the Ark of the Covenant to safety?
