The year is 1963 and Kalina Jędrusik's star is shining brightly. The actress is happily married to Stanisław Dygat and is having a passionate affair with a young singer whom her husband completely accepts. However, her shameless joie de vivre offends and outrages many. After her performance at the Barbórka festival Kalina learns that the cross she has displayed on her cleavage has outraged the people's authorities. She is banned from performing on television, which for a high-ranking official working in television is an opportunity to take revenge for unrequited feelings. What will Kalina do in this situation? Will she manage to remain independent?
