Lord of the Rings: An Anime Movie is in the Works

No one was expecting this: as Variety and other outles report, a completely new "Lord of the Rings" movie is in the works. It will be produced alongside the Amazon series currently in production and surprisingly, it will be released as an anime. The title is "The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim" and we can look forward to seeing how the team around Kenji Kamiyama will direct the film. After all, there are hardly any limits in an anime adaptation and the viewers are offered a completely new view of Middle-earth. Although the story will largely stand on its own two feet, it will be based on Peter Jackson's trilogy.
