Fans of giant robots listen up! With "Voltron", we are about to get a live-action adaptation of the anime of the same name, starring fan favorite Henry Cavill!

The movie is based on the popular mecha anime series "Voltron: Defender of the Universe". It was adapted for Western audiences in the 1980s based on Japanese series. The plot revolves around five young pilots who control special robots in the shape of lions. These robots can unite to form a powerful mega robot called Voltron to take on a tyrannical menace in space.

As revealed by The Hollywood Reporter, Henry Cavill will be joined by Daniel Quinn-Toye, who has so far mainly appeared as a theater actor. The screenplay for "Voltron" was written by Ellen Shanman and "Red Notice" director Rawson Marshall Thurber, with the latter also directing the film.

The involvement of Amazon MGM Studios in the project is also interesting. This connection could be one of the reasons for Cavill's involvement, as the actor is already working with Amazon on the planned movie adaptation of the "Warhammer 40k" universe. Filming for "Voltron" is scheduled to begin this fall in Australia.

Henry Cavill, the British actor with distinctive facial features, has become one of Hollywood's most sought-after stars and fan favorites over the past two decades. He is best known for his roles as "Superman" and Geralt of Rivia in "The Witcher", but his career has spanned a variety of different roles that have made him a versatile performer. Below we take a look at his career, from his early beginnings to his most famous films and series.

The Beginnings: First Steps into the Film World

Henry Cavill was born on May 5, 1983 on the Channel Islands of Jersey. He showed an interest in acting at a young age and began his training at the British private school Stowe School, where he appeared in school theater productions. His talent did not go unnoticed for long, and he made his debut in the film "Laguna" in 2001.

His first major appearance came in 2002 with the movie "The Count of Monte Cristo", a historical drama in which he played the young Albert Mondego. Despite the minor role, Cavill was praised for his presence on screen, which earned him further engagements. However, his early years in the film industry consisted largely of supporting roles and appearances in lesser-known productions.

The Breakthrough: The Tudors and Superman

Cavill's first big breakthrough came in 2007 when he took on the role of Charles Brandon, the first Duke of Suffolk, in the successful historical drama series "The Tudors". The series, based on the intrigues and political power struggles at the court of Henry VIII, featured Cavill in a role that brought him international attention. "The Tudors" ran for four seasons and gave Cavill the opportunity to demonstrate his skills as an actor in a complex historical drama.

After "The Tudors" ended, Cavill moved on to the next big stage in the film industry. In 2013, he took on the role that elevated his career to a new level: Superman in Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel". The movie was a new beginning for the DC universe and showed Cavill as the iconic hero. His Superman embodied a modern version of the legendary comic character that had both physical strength and emotional depth. He won over both critics and fans with his portrayal and established himself as an international superstar.
