With the Keanu Reeves film "BRZRKR", a highly anticipated project has finally found its director! As The Hollywood Reporter points out, it's someone who is very much at home in the action genre: "Fast and Furious" director Justin Lin.

"BRZRKR" is a comic book series that Keanu Reeves himself developed and wrote together with author Matt Kindt. Netflix now wants to adapt the comics into a movie.

The story revolves around the immortal warrior "B": a demigod who has been living on Earth for 80,000 years. Born to a human father and a divine mother, he was brought into the world to be invincible. His life is marked by endless violence, as he has fought and killed in countless conflicts. However, this immortality is not only a gift, but also a curse that consumes Bs' body and soul. He is now in the service of the US government and fights battles for them that are too violent and too dangerous for others.

Justin Lin as Director of BRZRKR

With Justin Lin, a veteran of the "Fast and Furious" franchise has now been appointed as director. He directed the films from Part 3 to 6 of the series until he returned as a director for "Fast and Furious 9". Lin also directed "Star Trek Beyond" and two episodes of the acclaimed crime series "True Detective".

The screenplay for "BRZRKR" was written by Mattson Tomlin, who worked on the action film "Project Power" and is also involved in the upcoming "The Batman 2". In addition to the film adaptation, Netflix is also planning a series based on the comic universe. Tomlin will be involved in this as a writer as well.

Due to the early stages of development, it is not yet clear when we can expect the movie and the series of "BRZRKR", but we will of course keep you up to date!

The Most Important Films by Justin Lin

Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006)

"The Fast & the Furious: Tokyo Drift" is undoubtedly one of the most famous movies in Justin Lin's career. The third installment of the "Fast & Furious" series, set in Japan, followed a new main character, Sean Boswell (Lucas Black), who had to assert himself in the world of illegal street racing in Tokyo. "Tokyo Drift" saw the first appearance of Han, a character who later became a fan favorite and played an important role in other movies in the series.

With "Tokyo Drift", Lin was able to further fuel the growing popularity of "Fast & Furious", even though the film was initially considered somewhat independent from the other parts.

Fast & Furious 4 (2009)

"Fast & Furious 4" marked a return to the roots of the series and was the first film to reunite all of the original lead actors from the first two movies. With Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto and Paul Walker as Brian O'Conner, Justin Lin led the two characters into a new conflict, which was naturally peppered with action and numerous stunts.

"Fast & Furious 4" was a pivotal moment for the series, as it set the tone for the next movies, which increasingly focused on spectacular action and global adventure. The success of the film led to further sequels and made Lin a central part of the "Fast & Furious" family.

Fast Five (2011)

"Fast Five" is the film that took the "Fast & Furious" series to the next level and turned it into a worldwide blockbuster franchise. In this fifth installment, the tone of the movies changed, moving away from street racing to heist action and spectacular car chases. The introduction of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as Hobbs brought additional star power and a new dynamic to the team. "Fast Five" is now one of the most popular movies in the series.

Fast & Furious 6 (2013)

"Fast & Furious 6" continued the epic heist action from "Fast Five". The movie brought the team of Dominic Toretto and Brian O'Conner back together to fight an international crime boss. The highlight of the film was a spectacular car chase on a highway.

Lin managed to develop the characters further and bring their relationships even more to the fore. "Fast & Furious 6" was another hit that further cemented the franchise as one of the biggest action franchises.

Fast & Furious 9 (2021)

For the ninth installment of the series, Justin Lin returned to the franchise after some time. Part 7 was directed by horror director James Wan, while Part 8 was directed by F. Gary Gray. In "Fast & Furious 9", Dom Toretto and his group have to deal with Dom and Mia's brother Jakob, played by John Cena.

The film, released in 2016, continued the adventures of the USS Enterprise, this time challenged by a new threat. Lin brought his penchant for action to the sci-fi universe, and "Star Trek Beyond" featured several starship battles and action-packed scenes.
