Reacher: Everything You Need to Know About Season 5 and the Neagley Spin-off
After the Season 4 finale: What's next for the series?
After the final episode of the fourth season of "Reacher", the titular investigator's journey is far from over. Prime Video has officially confirmed that the fifth season of the action series is in the works. Alan Ritchson will, of course, return as former military police officer Jack Reacher, and this time he'll tackle a case based on one of the most popular novels in the book series. We've gathered all the information for you and will also reveal what the spin-off "Neagley" has to offer.
What is Season 5 about?
For the new season, Amazon is adapting "Make Me" the 20th novel by Lee Child. The story centers on the small town of Mother's Rest. Mother's Rest was supposed to be just another stop on Reacher's journey. But as so often happens in his life, it turns into something more. He begins investigating the mysterious disappearance of a person, with the help of a private investigator. Together, the two try to uncover what lies behind the case.
The investigation ultimately leads to a dangerous criminal conspiracy, in which Reacher must once again prove his special abilities. However, it is not yet known how closely the series will actually follow the source material. Prime Video has confirmed that "Make Me" will serve as the basis for Season 5, but has not yet revealed any details about specific plot elements.
Which actors are joining the cast?
In addition to Alan Ritchson, we'll be introduced to several new actors in the fifth season. Amanda Ip, known from "Cross", takes on the role of Michelle Chang. "This Is the End" actor Jay Baruchel plays Chief Buck Bauer. Ciara Bravo also joins the cast as Eunice. Kevin Durand, who was most recently seen in "Ready or Not 2", will play the role of Nokes.
When will filming begin?
Fans will have to be patient for now, though. Prime Video hasn't announced a specific start date for Season 5 yet. However, production appears to be in full swing. According to Forbes magazine, filming began on July 21, 2026, and is expected to continue through December.
When will Season 5 of Reacher premiere on Prime Video?
If production proceeds at a brisk pace, a release sometime in 2027 is certainly conceivable. However, a specific premiere date for "Reacher" Season 5 is still under wraps. We'll keep you posted!
Neagley Gets Her Own Series
But it's not just the main series that's expanding. With "Neagley", another key character from the "Reacher" universe is getting her own series. The series centers on Frances Neagley, played by Maria Sten. Alan Ritchson is also set to make an appearance. The rest of the cast is impressive as well. Greyston Holt takes on the role of Detective Hudson Riley. Adeline Rudolph, Jasper Jones, Matthew Del Negro, and Damon Herriman are also part of the cast. Several names are responsible for the production: Sam Hill, Gary Fleder, Phil Abraham, and M. J. Bassett are sharing directing duties. Behind the scenes, Nick Santora – who has already served as the driving force behind "Reacher" – will once again serve as screenwriter. He is being supported by Nicholas Wootton.

What is the Reacher spin-off about?
Neagley is one of the few people with whom Reacher has a close connection. The former military police officer now works as a private investigator in Chicago. When an old friend from her past dies in an accident under mysterious circumstances, she begins investigating on her own. In this way, "Neagley" also follows the basic premise of the main series: a situation that is initially puzzling leads to a larger case in which a military past, personal connections, and criminal schemes all converge.
Neagley's significance within the franchise is quite remarkable. In the series, which now comprises more than 30 books, she is one of the most important characters alongside Reacher. While Reacher is constantly changing locations, Neagley serves as a kind of constant link between the various stories.
Will there be a second season of Neagley?
It has not yet been confirmed whether the spin-off series will get a second season. You can watch the first season on Prime Video starting September 16, 2026. In any case, we're curious to see if "Neagley" can build on the success of the original series.
