Disney Also Takes Over the Rest of Hulu
Until now, NBCUniversal still held 33 percent of Hulu
Disney is buying the remaining stake of the streaming service Hulu from NBCUniversal.
The acquisition of Fox means that Disney already owns two thirds of Hulu. So, it should come as no surprise that Disney now apparently wants to take full control of Hulu. Disney is said to have invested a further 8.6 billion dollars in order to buy the remaining 33% stake from NBCUniversal.
Disney boss Bob Iger is already in the process of restructuring his own company following losses in the streaming business. An expansion of the platform's streaming library should therefore benefit Disney.
