Now it's Yoshi's turn. The fan favorite could play a major role in the "Super Mario Galaxy Movie".

Luis Guzmán as Wart

Two more castings were announced: Luis Guzmán will play Wart, the tyrannical, frog-like antagonist known from "Super Mario Bros. 2", among others. Guzmán was most recently seen in the Netflix hit "Wednesday".

Issa Rae as Honey Queen

Meanwhile, "Barbie" actress Issa Rae will take on the role of the Honey Queen, familiar to "Super Mario" fans from the "Galaxy" games. Other additions to the voice cast were already known: Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr. and "Captain Marvel" star Brie Larson as Rosalina. Of course, Chris Pratt returns as Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, and Jack Black as Bowser.

This is what the Super Mario Galaxy movie is about

An official plot description of the Nintendo film has already been released: The two plumber brothers Mario and Luigi have settled in the Mushroom Kingdom. In their new home, they actively help out and solve the everyday problems, true to their motto "Let's-a-go!"

While supporting Princess Peach and trying to set Bowser on the right path, they also meet a new companion in Yoshi. The Super Mario Galaxy games

The "Super Mario Bros. Movie" from 2023 marked the start of Nintendo's new film offensive. The animated film, produced by Illumination, became a huge box office success and is one of the most successful video game adaptations of all time. A sequel was therefore no surprise.

The "Super Mario Galaxy Movie" is based on an extremely popular video game that was originally developed as a Wii game. The enormous popularity of "Super Mario Galaxy" and its sequel is also evident on Metacritic, where both titles are still among the best Wii games ever.

Fan favorite Yoshi

Yoshi is one of the most popular characters in the "Mario" universe. The friendly dinosaur made his first appearance in the game "Super Mario World" and quickly became an integral part of the series. Yoshi is particularly known for his ability to swallow enemies with his long tongue and turn them into eggs. Over the years, Yoshi has evolved to a character with his own games. With his friendly nature, distinctive appearance, and high recognition value, Yoshi is now one of the most famous characters in the entire "Mario" franchise.
