"Knock Knock" Gets a German Remake
Veronica Ferres will produce the film
Eli Roth's thriller "Knock Knock" with Keanu Reeves was not particularly successful at the box office and was also poorly received by the majority of viewers. But apparently people are still convinced of the quality of the story, because a German remake is currently in the works.
As Variety exclusively reports, director Eli Roth is teaming up with the German production company Construction Film, founded by actress and producer Veronica Ferres. The aim is to produce several film projects, starting with the German version of "Knock Knock". It is not yet known whether Ferris will take on a role in addition to her position as producer. Eli Roth, however, will once again pen the screenplay and take on directing duties.
In "Knock Knock", married architect Evan Webber gets into a precarious situation when he provides shelter to two young women during a rainstorm. What begins as a kind gesture quickly turns into a nightmare. Keanu Reeves took on the leading role at the time. He was terrorized by Ana de Armas, among others.
In parallel to the remake, "Final Cut", a giallo-inspired thriller, is likewise being developed by Roth himself. In it, Veronica Ferres will take on one of the leading roles. No further details are yet known about this project either. By the way: Keanu Reeves and Ana de Armas are returning together for the action film "Ballerina", which you can see in cinemas starting June 6.
