Teresa Palmer as Sif in the God of War series
The next character in the adaptation has been cast!
It goes blow by blow! After Ryan Hurst was confirmed as Kratos for the "God of War" series last week, another role now seems to have been cast. As Deadline reports, "Lights Out" actress Teresa Palmer is to take on the role of the goddess Sif.
Although Sif only plays a supporting role in the video games, there are currently indications that the character could become much more prominent in the series. The casting is also particularly interesting in terms of the possible content of the series. In the games, Sif appears more prominently in "God of War: Ragnarok" – especially in combination with Atreus, the son of Kratos. So far, however, there is no information about who will take on the role of Atreus. But it shouldn't be too long now. After all, the relationship between Kratos and his son is the emotional centerpiece of the more recent "God of War" games.
The first season will probably consist of ten episodes. But it is already clear that it will not stop there. Amazon has already commissioned a second season. Pre-production is already underway in Vancouver. It is not yet known exactly when filming will begin. A start date has also not yet been set.
From genre cinema to series icon: Teresa Palmer's best-known roles
Teresa Palmer has been one of the most distinctive actresses in international genre and series cinema for years. The Australian has built a career that is equally characterized by major studio films, bold independent projects and successful series. Her affinity for horror, fantasy and mystery material is particularly striking, to which she always lends emotional depth and credibility. A look at her best-known roles shows why Palmer is now considered a force to be reckoned with in Hollywood and beyond.
Early Hollywood experience and genre affinity
After initial success in Australian cinema, Teresa Palmer ventured into Hollywood early on. She gained experience in the horror genre in "The Grudge 2" (2006) – an area that would later become a recurring theme throughout her career.
"I am Number Four": the step into blockbuster cinema
Palmer became known to a broad international audience in 2011 with the science fiction film "I Am Number Four". In the role of the courageous and loyal Henri, she embodied a strong supporting character who quickly became a fan favorite. Although the film received critical acclaim and no sequels followed, it developed cult status – and Teresa Palmer finally established herself as the face of modern genre cinema.
"Warm Bodies": romance meets zombie apocalypse
One of her biggest audience successes followed in 2013 with "Warm Bodies". In this romantic horror comedy, Palmer played the human protagonist Julie, who falls in love with a zombie in a post-apocalyptic world. With charm, emotionality and humor, she played a key role in making the film work far beyond the typical zombie genre. To this day, Warm Bodies is considered one of her best-known and most popular roles.
Horror with cult status: "Lights Out"
Teresa Palmer took a decisive career step in 2016 with the horror film "Lights Out". As Rebecca, who faces a supernatural threat that only exists in the dark, Palmer impressed with her intense presence and emotional credibility. The film became a surprise success and is now considered a modern horror classic. Palmer's portrayal of a strong but vulnerable protagonist contributed significantly to the film's cult status and cemented her reputation as a reliable genre actress.

Serious roles in "Hacksaw Ridge"
In the same year, Palmer showed a completely different facet of her skills in "Hacksaw Ridge", Mel Gibson's multi-award-winning war drama. As Dorothy Schutte, the wife of pacifist soldier Desmond Doss, she brought warmth and emotional depth to a film otherwise characterized by brutality. Her restrained performance was praised by critics and proved that Palmer can also be convincing in serious, realistic material.

Courage to be uncomfortable: "Berlin Syndrome"
With the psychological thriller "Berlin Syndrome" (2017), Teresa Palmer once again underlined her courage to take on challenging roles. As a young Australian woman who gets caught up in a dangerous relationship in Berlin, she carries the film almost single-handedly. The intense portrayal of a woman in a hopeless situation is one of her strongest acting performances and made it clear that Palmer is also prepared to take risks outside of the mainstream.
Series success with "A Discovery of Witches"
Palmer reached another career highlight with the leading role in the fantasy series "A Discovery of Witches" (2018-2022). As historian and witch Diana Bishop, she led the series for three seasons and impressed with a complex, emotional performance. The international popularity of the series also made Palmer known to a worldwide audience and cemented her status as a leading lady.
A career beyond fixed pigeonholes
Teresa Palmer's best-known roles show an actress who consistently defies easy categorization. Whether horror, romance, science fiction or drama - Palmer seeks out characters with depth and emotional relevance. This deliberate choice of roles has not earned her a classic superstar career, but it has earned her great respect within the industry.
