When will House of the Dragon Season 4 premiere?

This keeps the series true to its now-established release schedule: there's a gap of about two years between each season. Unlike the early years of "Game of Thrones", when new seasons were released almost annually, the creators say this project requires significantly more time. In particular, the elaborate visual effects involving the dragons result in a lengthy post-production process.

How many episodes will the season have?

Although HBO has not yet officially announced the number of episodes, there are strong indications that Season 4 will once again consist of eight episodes. It centers on Aegon Targaryen, who conquered the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros and united the realm under a single crown some 300 years before the events of the main series. The film is set to focus in particular on Aegon's military campaigns and his strategic decisions. According to reports, the screenplay is by Beau Willimon, who has already received widespread acclaim as the writer of the celebrated "Star Wars" series "Andor".

The Animated Series "9 Voyages"

Another exciting project is the planned animated series "9 Voyages", which will center on Lord Corlys Velaryon, also known as the Sea Snake. Fans of "House of the Dragon" are already familiar with the character from the live-action series, where he is portrayed by Steve Toussaint. "9 Voyages" tells the story of Corlys' legendary sea voyages, his expeditions to distant lands, and his rise to become one of the richest and most powerful men in the history of Westeros.

Genndy Tartakovsky is set to direct; he has earned an outstanding reputation in the field of animation with projects such as "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" and "Primal". The project was originally planned as a lavish live-action series. Bruno Heller, who previously served as showrunner for series such as "Rome" and "Gotham", was behind the project.

However, George R. R. Martin confirmed that the concept had to be revised for financial reasons. The exotic locations, massive ships, and spectacular naval battles would have made a live-action adaptation extremely costly. That's why HBO ultimately opted for an animated adaptation, which offers significantly more creative freedom. An official release date for "9 Voyages" has not yet been announced, however.
