The Batman: At the start of the shooting there is now also an official list of the cast

Does Warner Bros. want to lure the fans on the wrong track with an actor?

The shooting of the new Batman movie has officially started a few days ago. According to the Warner Brothers studio, director Matt Reeves is now shooting the first Batman solo movie since Christopher Nolan's The Dark Night Rises in 2012, as confirmed on Reeves' official Twitter channel with a picture of the set and the hashtag #dayone

The fact that the main character's name is now Robert Pattinson and no longer Christian Bale has been known for some time, but an official cast list with all the actors involved has now been made available to the public.

So there will be Zoe Kravitz, Paul Dano, Colin Farrell, John Turturro, Jeffrey Wright, Jayme Lawson and Andy Serkis seen on screen. Green Lantern actor Peter Sarsgaard will also be in the cast and, according to Warner, in the role of Gotham City District Attorney Gil Colson. However, some fans are of the opinion that Warner Brothers wants to lead their fans on the wrong path with this announcement. Previously, there was a persistent rumour that Skarsgard would take over the role of Harvey Dent a.k.a. Two-Face.

When Warner Bros. announced the actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the at that time still unknown character John Blake, this role later turned out to be Robin. The fact that Harvey Dent also acted as District Attorney in Gotham City, just like the announced role of Gil Colson, also speaks for the fans' theory.

The Batman is scheduled for release on June 25, 2021
