Savage Son: Chris Pratt Returns for a New The Terminal List Project
The novel could be adapted into a movie
A new mission awaits James Reece: "Savage Son", another project set in the universe of "The Terminal List", is in the works. And, of course, Chris Pratt will once again take on the lead role.
According to Variety, "Savage Son" is based on the third novel of the same name from author Jack Carr's book series. It has not yet been officially confirmed whether the new project will be produced as a third season of the main series or as a standalone spin-off. There are currently many indications that Amazon is planning a separate film that will continue the story of James Reece independently of the parent series.
This time, the former Navy SEAL sniper is set to face a particularly dangerous mission. In the source novel, Reece has retreated to the remote wilderness of Montana to recover from brain surgery. But the peace he hoped for doesn't last long. When Reece becomes entangled in the machinations of the Russian mafia, he has no choice but to take up arms once again.
It's still under wraps when this new project will be unveiled. However, the second season of "The Terminal List" premiered in October, and you can watch it on Prime Video.
The Terminal List Universe Continues to Expand
With "Savage Son", Amazon is further expanding the existing series universe. It all began in 2022 with the main series, in which Chris Pratt first appeared as James Reece. The story revolves around a Navy SEAL whose entire team is killed during a secret mission. As Reece subsequently tries to uncover the truth behind the incident, he becomes entangled in a dangerous web of conspiracies.
A prequel, "The Terminal List: Dark Wolf", followed in 2025, focusing on another character from the universe. In it, Taylor Kitsch reprised his role as Ben Edwards, a former Navy SEAL who now works for the CIA.
Amazon MGM Studios is also confident in the franchise's progress so far. Peter Friedlander, who heads the global television division there, emphasized how deeply Jack Carr's stories have resonated with audiences.
"Jack Carr's work has connected with audiences in a way that speaks to the power of his storytelling and the incredible dedication Chris Pratt and the entire team bring to every episode. 'The Terminal List' franchise continues to resonate and Savage Son takes the story into its most intense chapter yet."
At the same time, he highlighted the dedication of Chris Pratt and the entire production team, which has contributed significantly to the series' success.
