Crawl 2: Horror Hit Gets a Sequel – Lead Actors Announced

The alligators are on the loose again! Seven years after the surprise success of "Crawl", a sequel is now in the works – and the two lead actors for "Crawl 2" have already been cast!
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Mason Gooding and Emily Rudd will star in the lead roles. Gooding gained worldwide recognition primarily through Olivia Wilde's comedy "Booksmart" and the latest films in the "Scream" series. Emily Rudd, on the other hand, made her breakthrough as Nami in the "One Piece" live-action series.
In true classic sequel fashion, Part 2 is also being conceived on a much larger scale. Instead of the swamps and suburbs of Florida, the sequel now shifts the action to New York City. After a severe hurricane, alligators are said to be roaming the flooded streets and the metropolis's extensive canal system, spreading fear and terror.
Alexandre Aja is returning to direct and is also co-writing the screenplay. An official release date for "Crawl 2" has not yet been announced, but filming is set to begin in Hungary at the end of August.
