After the Indian blockbuster "RRR" 2022 wowed audiences and critics worldwide and even impressed Hollywood greats such as Steven Spielberg, James Cameron and James Gunn, S.S. Rajamouli's new film is now in the works. And this time he wants to push the boundaries of Indian cinema once again.

According to World of Reel, Rajamouli is planning to release his new film in two parts, each with a running time of around three hours. Possible titles under discussion are "Garuda" and "Maharaj ", with the director reportedly opting for the latter.

Filming is currently underway under the title "SSMB29" and will take the team through the breathtaking landscapes of Kenya, among other places. The film is set to be a "globetrotting adventure" and is being billed as the most ambitious and expensive project in the history of Indian cinema. The rough start date is 2027.

The lead role will be played by Mahesh Babu, one of the biggest stars in the Telugu film industry. He will be accompanied by "Matrix 4" star Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Chatrapathi Sekhar, who was also seen in "RRR", among others. In order to maintain the confidentiality of the project, the cast and crew had to sign a strict non-disclosure agreement – accordingly, there is no information about the plot yet. According to initial rumors, however, it will be an adventure film à la "Indiana Jones".

We are curious to see whether the film will find its way into cinemas or, like many Indian productions, end up on Netflix. Either way, we should be in for another visually stunning spectacle.
