24 years after Ridley Scott's epic "Gladiator", the eagerly awaited sequel finally awaits us on November 14. The first trailer for "Gladiator 2" is now available - and it packs a punch!
It features Lucius, played by Paul Mescal, who is to take on a horde of Roman soldiers under the leadership of Denzel Washington's character Macrinus. They are led by Pedro Pascal's character Marcus Acacius - a Roman general.
Lucius is taken to Rome to fight for his life as a gladiator in the arena. Among other things, he has to deal with an attacking rhinoceros and a horde of vicious baboons. Not to mention a spectacular arena that is set under water.
Also on show: Lucius' mother Lucilla, as well as the new emperors Caracalla and Geta. Epic battle sequences and plenty of political intrigue are of course also included.
"Gladiator 2" will be released in cinemas on November 22, 2024.
