After years of uncertainty, the planned live-action adaptation of "Naruto" is finally taking shape. Lionsgate has now officially confirmed via X that the casting process for the three main characters has begun. They are looking for actors to play the iconic members of Team 7: Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Sakura Haruno.

Once these three lead roles are cast, additional supporting characters will follow. This marks a decisive step toward production for the Hollywood project. Destin Daniel Cretton will be in charge of the film's production. The filmmaker, who will release the new Spider-Man film "Brand New Day" in theaters at the end of July, will serve as both director and screenwriter for the manga adaptation. In an interview with the industry magazine Variety, Cretton expressed his enthusiasm for the project:

"Kishimoto-sensei's stories have inspired generations of fans around the world, and it's an honor to bring his world and characters to the big screen in live action for the very first time. I'm thrilled to kick off this worldwide casting search for our Team 7 and to bring the incredible universe of 'Naruto' to life!"

Masashi Kishimoto, the creator of the world-famous manga, also expressed his excitement:

"Right now, miracles are happening to me, one after another. My work, 'Naruto' is truly, truly becoming a Hollywood movie! And an even greater miracle is that the film will be directed by the one and only Destin Daniel Cretton. I still cannot believe it!"

However, there is no official release date for the "Naruto" movie yet. Since casting for the lead roles has only just begun, it will likely be some time before the film finally hits theaters. "Naruto" tells the story of the young ninja Naruto Uzumaki, who grows up as an outsider in the village of Konoha. The powerful nine-tailed fox spirit is sealed inside his body, which is why he is shunned by many villagers.

Despite his loneliness and the rejection he faces, Naruto steadfastly pursues his dream of one day becoming Hokage – the strongest and most respected ninja in his village. Together with his teammates Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno, he embarks on dangerous missions, faces powerful enemies, and grows both as a fighter and as a person.
