A prequel could possibly await us

Apple TV+ celebrates a huge success with "The Gorge". The unusual mix of romance, action, horror and sci-fi not only delighted viewers, but also broke streaming records. Now there are already initial ideas for the sequel "The Gorge 2".

In an interview with Forbes, screenwriter Zach Dean explained that he already has ideas for further films in "The Gorge" universe – particularly for a prequel. In "The Gorge", there were already references to a long prehistory of the deadly gorge. Numerous names of his predecessors can be seen on the wall of Levis' watchtower – a promising starting point for a new story. A prequel could therefore shed light on the previous guardians of the gorge and their fates.

The key success factor of "The Gorge" was the strong chemistry between Anya Taylor-Joy and Miles Teller. However, a prequel would mean that the two actors would no longer be part of the cast.

Of course, a classic sequel revolving around the future of Drasa and Levi is also conceivable. At the moment, however, Zach Dean's thoughts seem to be more focused on the past. There is still no official confirmation of a sequel, but the success of the film could prompt Apple TV+ to expand the franchise further. We are excited!
