Indiana Jones 5: Harrison Ford Getting Female Support
Shooting is scheduled to begin this summer
Now that's good news: filming of the meanwhile fifth "Indiana Jones" movie will finally commence in the summer, and a female lead actress has now also joined the cast. The talk is of Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who may be known to many from the popular Amazon series "Fleabag". Alongside Harrison Ford, the 35-year-old will breathe new life into the franchise, which has become somewhat dated. The actress, as well as being a screenwriter, definitely has the necessary skills, as the British actress also works as an author besides her acting career and was even recently hired as an additional writer for the script of the new "James Bond". It looks as though things are looking promising for "Indiana Jones 5" now, since Lucasfilm's planned sequel had been on hold for many years, while Steven Spielberg also dropped out as director. The film icon is still involved behind the scenes, however, and serves as producer alongside Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall. James Mangold is responsible for directing the film, and is also expected to give fresh impetus to the project. But ever since "Ford v Ferrari", no one should have any doubts about his professional competence.
"Indiana Jones 5" will start shooting this summer and is scheduled to be released in cinemas on July 29, 2022.
