The eagerly awaited live-action remake of "Avatar: The Last Airbender" is proving to be a total success on Netflix. After over 41 million viewers in just 11 days, it is now clear that Aang and his friends' journey will continue.

As Netflix announced in a press release on Wednesday, "Avatar" seasons 2 and 3 have officially been given the green light. The first season roughly covered the story of season 1 of the 2005 original. After "Water", "Earth" and "Fire" are now very likely to follow, as the artwork provided reveals.

The live-action remake of the popular animated cartoon series is the streaming provider's next big hit after the live-action version of "One Piece", which broke several records in 2023. And there's more to come: Netflix is also currently working on live-action adaptations of anime hits such as "My Hero Academia" and "Naruto".

Meanwhile, the creators of the old "Avatar" series are working on their own sequel in the form of animated movies, the first of which is due to be released in 2025. It has not yet been announced when exactly Netflix's "Avatar: The Last Airbender" will continue, but we'll keep you up to date as always!
