"Dune" star Timothée Chalamet teams up with director Josh Safdie and A24 to turn the life of table tennis legend Marty Reisman into a movie. Titled "Marty Supreme".

Reisman, who passed away in 2012, played from 1946 to 2002, won countless titles and, at 67, was the oldest player ever to win an open national table tennis tournament. His nickname: "The Wizard of Table Tennis".

Along with his brother, director Josh Safdie has previously worked with A24, for example on "Good Time" and the Adam Sandler film "Uncut Gems". Timothée Chalamet is a big fan of the Safdie brothers and will both produce and star in the new movie. The story is loosely based on Reisman's life, but is otherwise fictional. Currently there is no release date set for "Marty Supreme".
