New role for Keanu Reeves! The "Matrix" star will be seen as the lead actor in "Outcome". The comedy from director and co-actor Jonah Hill starts on Apple TV on April 10, 2026. The streaming channel has now released the first images for "Outcome" - and Jonah Hill is barely recognizable in one of the photos.

At the center of the film is Hollywood star Reef Hawk, played by Keanu Reeves. When a mysterious video emerges, he is threatened with a huge blow to his image that could cause his career to implode. Especially as Hawk is being blackmailed with the recordings. To prevent the worst from happening, he embarks on a merciless journey of self-discovery and tries to find out who is blackmailing him.

He is supported by his childhood friends Xander, played by Matt Bomer, and Kyle, played by Cameron Diaz. Jonah Hill, who also co-wrote and directed "Outcome", takes on the role of his lawyer Ira, who is also on hand to help. A first production still, in which he can be seen together with Reeves, shows Hill in his new look: with a full gray beard and bald head.

The comedy is Jonah Hill's second feature film after his 2018 coming-of-age drama "Mid90s", for which he took a seat in the director's chair. In addition to the lead actors Reeves, Bomer and Diaz, he also cast Susan Lucci, Laverne Cox, David Spade, Atsuko Okatsuka, Roy Wood Jr, Kaia Gerber and Ivy Wolk in other roles. Renowned filmmaker Martin Scorsese, who recently played his own alter ego in a guest role in the award-winning Apple TV series "The Studio", is also part of the cast of "Outcome".

Keanu Reeves: A great star of the action genre

As far as lead actor Keanu Reeves is concerned, "Outcome" is part of an impressive filmography that is particularly impressive due to Reeves' action films. In the 1990s, he starred in two of the best action films of the decade. In "Point Break" in 1991, he played FBI agent Johnny Utah, who goes undercover in the surfing scene to gain the trust of criminal surfer Bodhi. What may sound somewhat abstruse on paper becomes a gripping thriller in the hands of director Kathryn Bigelow, captivating from start to finish. This is not least due to the interplay between Reeves and Patrick Swayze, who delivered perhaps the most charismatic performance of his career in the role of Bodhi. The chemistry between the two, in addition to the superbly staged action, makes the film an unforgettable genre classic.

The next immortal action hit with Keanu Reeves followed in 1994 with "Speed". This time, the Hollywood star slipped into the role of police officer Jack Traven, who has to rescue the passengers of a bus. The perfidious thing is that the vehicle has been rigged by a crazed killer (played by Dennis Hopper) so that it cannot drive slower than 50 miles per hour. Otherwise, a bomb planted in the bus will explode. Once again, the premise sounds far-fetched. However, in keeping with the title, director Jan de Bont succeeded in creating a fast-paced thriller that constantly captivates the viewer and cemented Reeves' status as an action hero.

Iconic roles in Matrix and John Wick

Probably Keanu Reeves' most ambitious film followed in 1999 with "The Matrix". The movie shows a dystopian future in which humanity has been enslaved by intelligent machines. Without realizing it, people live in a supposed reality that resembles our present, but is in fact merely a simulation of the machines. In "Matrix", leading actor Reeves becomes the hacker Neo, who is recruited by a resistance group. With its dark cyberpunk aesthetic and innovative bullet-time effects, the Wachowskis' science fiction hit became a style-defining classic. Its huge success ensured that the two sequels "The Matrix Reloaded" and "The Matrix Revolutions" followed in 2003. The elaborately staged films did not come close to the quality of the original in terms of content, just like the sequel "The Matrix Resurrections", which was released in 2021. As Neo, however, Reeves became a blockbuster superstar.

The next iconic role followed in 2014 with "John Wick". As the titular ex-killer who interrupts his retirement to punish the murderers of his beloved dog, Reeves once again set new standards in the action genre. Never before has the Hollywood star been portrayed as cool and at the same time as tough as he is by director Chad Stahelski. The way Reeves shoots his way through a nightclub in a perfectly choreographed action scene is unforgettable. Three more sequels followed, and a fifth part is in the pipeline. As expected, it will once again star Reeves, who obviously remains true to the action genre.
